How do you find Subnet Mask and Gateway?

Im setting up an Xbox 360 for Xbox Live. Its wired. Ive got the IP Address down, but I have no idea what a Subnet Mask or a Gateway even is, or where to find it. Could someone help?How do you find Subnet Mask and Gateway?
Go to your pc, click on Start%26gt;Run and type cmd in the pane then press enter. In the DOS window, type ';ipconfig /all'; (no quotes). Your subnet and default gateway will be listed.How do you find Subnet Mask and Gateway?
Typically the subnet mask and default gateway are the same for all wired devices on a network. I would recommend wiring a computer or laptop up to your router and opening the command prompt and typing ';ipconfig/all';

This will give you full detail about the connection.

Typically your subnet mask will be something like 255.255.255.0

and a default gateway will be something like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1
If you are running this on your local network, and you are running windows, do this:

Click start, run, type in cmd and press enter.

At the command prompt, type ipconfig /all (press enter)

You'll find everything there.

If not, what type of network setup do you have? And what OS installed?
