I'm allergic to mud masks?

I don't understand it, I used a mud slap made of mud and algae and my face burned and hurt during the first 1min. I thought it was because of the algae so I got a mud and green tea face masks and still my face burns....





Can one really get an allergy to mud? It says its allergy tested but still....

I'd try green clay masks. I don't think you have a mud allergy but it could be a sulfur allergy and mud tends to have high amounts of sulfur in it, especially if it's mud from lake bottoms.

Well I'm all for breaking down walls but... hmm... death metal masks? Your guess is as good as mine. Slipknot may or may not be metal, I won't profess to know or care because frankly they just annoy me, but I'll tell you this for certain: they are NOT death metal. And I don't know of any mask-wearing bands that are.





Good luck though, I'd be curious to see what you come up with. I have no problem with having an image attached to a band as long as it doesn't dominate or overhype the music. Unless of course it's GWAR, in which case I think that's kind of the entire point. But yeah, be creative and original would be my only advice. Helpful, yes, I know.
You going for a certain type of look or just want it straight up evil? You can do the basics like corpsepaint and blood or maybe black the eyes out and have blood from the mouth or an inverted cross on the forehead. Just search some online and get more ideas.

When I was in theatre, I did costume design for a play based in Spain during ';Carnival.'; (Denver,CO) I found a shop where a lady made and stocked various masques made of this neat paper-pulp material. Just plain white- for artists and such. I found skulls, gargoyles, even a donkey masque! Took them and painted them and decorated them myself, added the ties. Marvelous! And very authentic. And very affordable. I'd look for local artisans that work with papier mache.

I say there are two ways to go about this. You could tell your teacher that you don't believe in souls and so feel you can't do the project and see what happens, or instead, perhaps make a mask that to you represents something else, like your personality. Your teacher really won't know the difference and you can still have some fun with the project.
No it isn't persecution because your taking a class about religion. When I took a similar class I had to do things in regards to eastern religions that I didn't believe in. Guess what, you do it.

She said in an interview that she made it by buying a plain half face mask (which you can get from fancy dress stores or from arts and crafts shops - if you can't find half, buy a full and cut to desired shape) She then smashed up a disco ball and stuck the broken pieces all over the mask like a messy mosaic. Just make sure the whole mask is covered. Maybe spray paint it silver (or buy in silver to begin with if possible) to avoid nasty white patches between shards - have fun! xx

I don't know where you could find one, but Im sure they're not that hard to make. Just buy a plain mask from any art and craft shop, and the mirrored squares, and stick them on. That way you would defo be original and you wouldn't have to pay much for it! Bargain!

You can only use lemon and green clay, it becomes like thick foam. I don't use oils cause my skin is oily/mixed. make sure that you only use a few drops of olive oil cuz it can make your skin oily if you use too much

I haven't made any masks, but for me the best homemade exfoliate is a mix of sugar and olive oil. It moisturizes and exfoliates really well, I've been making it for years now. I use about 2/3 sugar (just regular sugar) to about 1/3 extra virgin olive oil ( the best you can afford) to whatever size container you plan on using, I add a little vanilla extract just for scent. You can add any scent you like. mix in a container so the oil and sugar are combined. Use while you take a bath or shower and cover when not using. It's cheap, and works wonders. Unless surgery is on the head, nothing up there will be sterile. If you are having a procedure that does not require general anesthesia, just ask, and it will probably be OK. We let people bring iPods into surgery if they're having a spinal or epidural or other nerve block. Other patients bring rosaries, or bibles, or other comforting things with them. Kids bring stuffed animals or blankies into the OR. It's OK.





If you ARE having general, it's probably not a good idea, because your mask has a high likelihood of getting lost. We need it off for the induction of anesthesia, and we do tape eyelids shut after you go to sleep. The big bright surgery lights don't go on until after you're asleep, anyway. Before that, it's just regular fluorescent room lights.

if you didn't know this already, they generally tape a person's eyelids shut during surgery. They may let you wear it, if you express your apprehension, but even after wearing it, they'll still have to tape your eyelids shut.





The one thing about wearing ';outside'; clothes is that they are not sterile, so its a precautionary measure that a hospital takes.





i know this may be a bit disconcerting, but you should be fine. And as far as helping you relax, before the anasthetic, they will give you a ';cocktail'; to help you relax (i was once told it was like getting a 12 pack of beer in one shot in your i.v)

If you are wide awake during surgery the bright lights will probably be the least of your problems. Still, a number of surgeries are performed with the patient awake by using nerve blocks and local anesthesia. If that is the case just ask them to drape a STERILE towel over your eyes or head. They will not like the idea of you bringing in your own eye mask due to the chance of infection.
doesn't hurt to ask the doctor. But they will take it off you when you are under. When they take you into the OR you will virtually be out. They give you something to relax you. When you go into the OR even if awake the bright lights won't be on at that point. The hospitals have a little more tact than that.
My guess is that they will have concerns about the sterility of the mask. You may want to ask them for one instead of providing your own.

Well definitely family care givers should wear te gloves. Feces carry many bacteria, which are stubborn and don't wash off easily. Masks are not necesary unless they have super sensitive stomach. It isn't against anybody but that is just how things are done.

I've seen the movie, but does anyone know anything about the real man in the iron mask? Who he was? Where the story came from and what he did?Who was the man in the iron mask?
If you want a swashbuckling rendition of these events, read the book. Absolutely marvelous stuff. As for the man, Voltaire wrote a letter that dropped a lot of pretty explicit hints that the guy in the mask was Louis XIV's twin brother. The writer spent time in the Bastille and got out, but the Man lived and died there. The reasons why were basically that Louis XIII didn't want a civil war because of the identical twins and locked the younger one away.





Another account is that the Man was the Duc de Beaufort. Louis XIII and Anne of Austria hated one another, and didn't consummate their marriage for at least four years. As such, Anne might have given birth to a child fathered by the duc during one of her many flings. According to this version, Louis XIII - obviously not happy - threw the duc in the Bastille for cuckolding him, but kept the boy as an heir.





All other accounts are along those lines - usually, some noble was the Man for fathering Louis XIV. There are even a version where the Man is a WOMAN. Here, the girl was actually the daughter of Louis XIII and Anne, but fearing that this be their only child and wanting a son to succeed the throne, they traded their girl for someone's boy. The imposter grew up to be Louis XIV and the girl the ';Man'; in the Iron Mask. This was a piece of propaganda and not really part of the Iron Mask mythos.

It could be that the whole thing was the invention of Alexandre Dumas. I'm sure that there have been books written on the subject. Try your local library. According to the story line, the reason that Phillipe was hidden away was to preserve the kingdom. It was thought that if there were two heirs to the throne, the country would be torn apart by civil war. Turns out it was anyway with only one king! And he got a haircut....REAL SHORT!

There was a historical person who did wear an iron mask (most likely a mask of black velvet) and was incarcerated in Bastille. Since Bastille was a prison reserved mainly for nobility and nobles were often thrown there not only for crimes but as the result of various intrigues, it is quite possible that a high ranking person was there, possibly even a foreign diplomat.


However, due to correspondence between officials of those times, they state the man's name as one Eustache Dauger. His crime against the crown is not revealed though.


There has been many theories and many documents but the legend persists and the theories continue to grow.
No one really knows who he was. There was a prisoner being held in the Bastille that wore an iron mask during the reign of King Louis XIV. Many still debate who he actually was.

Buy a cheap plastic mask from a costume place to build off of. It will cost only a buck and so and make the process so much less work for you. You will need to make some kind of an armature for the nose or it will collapse (or get too heavy). Using a wire that you can easily manipulate would be good, they sell that stuff in rolls or mesh sheets at arts stores. If you are crafty enough and are good at shaping things you may be able to cut the nose out of two pieces of very stiff paper creating a tent like structure and paper-mache over it.


I don't suggest using a flour and water mache recipe. It's harder to work with and will dry out as you're using it. Use plain old white glue watered down to a consistency that you are comfortable with (or at least add some glue to the flour mix). It will dry flexible, less likely to crack or chip paint off when you are finished.

He is headled now but re injury could threaten his career, so he wears the mask every game. Usually, the mask protects their noses (in general) if they have broken it. Although, you can't imagine the plastic mask being that protective.

Homemade Facial Masks for dry skin





Mask 1. Mix 2 tablespoons honey with 2 teaspoons milk. Smooth over face and throat. Leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.





Mask 2. You will need:


2 oz/60g ripe avocado flesh


1 oz/25g orange juice


1 tsp/5g pure acacia honey


1 tsp/5g molasses


5 drops chamomile essential oil





Put all the ingredients in a blender, or mash by hand in a bowl. Add extra orange juice if the mixture is too thick. Use your fingers to spread the mask over your face and neck and leave it on for at least 30 minutes, preferably longer, before removing. Use a warm flannel to rinse off the mask - this will help gently exfoliate skin as well as clean your face. This mask will keep for a day or two in the fridge if you don't use it all.





Mask 3. Mash apricots mix it with warm olive oil to form a paste. Apply it on your face and leave it for 10 minutes, then wash off.





Homemade Facial Masks for oily skin





Mask 1. It works wonders - Grate an apple finely and then add about 4 tablespoons of honey. Mix it well apply it to your face wait 10 minutes and rinse.





Mask 2. You will need:


1 egg white


6 drops witch hazel


6 drops lemon juice


Whisk the egg white until it's stiff, and then add the remaining ingredients. Gently apply the mixture to your face, avoiding your eyes. Leave to dry for 15 minutes or so. Rinse well with warm water.





Mask 3. Tomato Mask: For oily skin, mash up a ripe tomato and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm (not hot) water.

Mask 1. Warm a small pot of honey in a double boiler, then test a small amount on your hand to make sure it's not too hot. When warm, apply the honey generously over your entire face. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm, then cool water.

Honey Cleansing Scrub :





Mix 1 tablespoon honey with 2 tablespoons finely ground almonds and 陆 teaspoon lemon juice. Rub gently onto face. Rinse off with warm water.

all you have to do is go to your local crafts store and get a sheet of black velvet, or if they dont have that then get black felt

and make the designs with gold glitter glue

and they also sell feathers at the craft store too

Face Mask Users: Double Face Masks?

I've noticed many cyclists/commuters on Y!A are saying that they are wearing two face masks while riding. My fleece face mask feels so warm that I cannot imagine needing a second one. Also it's makes breathing a tad more difficult. So I cannot see how a second mask would be helpful instead of harmful to the rider.





What are the two types of face masks you are using? And how is your breathability? Wouldn't a second mask making breathing near impossible?

I do wear one while riding. I have a light one I wear when it's above freezing and a heavier one that I use when it's below freezing. Maybe that's what they mean by wearing two, one for warmish weather and one for harsher cold weather. My cold weather one stays very warm without additional layers well below 0 F, so I'm not sure why anyone would wear two at once. I hope this helps.

My thoughts were, find a dress you like then make the mask to match. our dresses always have matching shawls, you could buy a plastic mask from Micheals, then cover it with a portion of fabric from the shawl and decorate it with sequins or beads. Yes, but it is stickier and harder to remove if you apply it tightly. I use it every time I paint, I barely stick the edge close to the painting job %26amp; not stick the entire width. If you are fearful of tape removing paint that it is stuck on, stick %26amp; remove (repeat a few times) onto your jeans, etc.. to reduce the stickines (by adding some fibers/gunk onto tape); it won't stick quick so hard. Remove slowly %26amp; same direction it is on wall, or whatever.

You can use a variety of things to remove the sticky tape residue off of the coins, such as with things commonly found around the house: rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover, WD-40, lighter fluid, or maybe just some dawn dishwashing liquid %26amp; some hot water.


You can also use stuff found at any hardware store, such as paint thinner, acetone, or mineral spirits, or stuff from the auto parts store, such as carberator cleaner, or brake cleaner, and my personal favorite, either Goof Off or Goo-Gone, which can be found at any craft store, and even at most regular grocery stores, or local drugstores.


...Even better yet, try cutting strips of paper (or maybe tin-foil?) and rolling the coins with the paper, first, then put a small piece of tape [over the paper], to secure it, ...and avoid getting any tape residue on the coins all together.. ;)How to remove sticky smudge of masking tape in a coin?
Nail polish remover or Goo Gone
GOO GONE would also work. but why not just get coin rollers from a bank? Or wrap the roll in a paper towel or put the correct amounts in zip lock lunch bags. There are many options beyond masking tape. Or just save them in a jar and use a Coin Star machine. It might be worth the 8 cents a dollar to save the effort of cleaning coins.
I use nail polish remover for sticky price tags, and it works pretty well!
WD-40 works best.
The best and the cheapest stuff to clean coins, Is something which you may already have in your house, something which if you dont have, you can buy for around 19p.

simple really, pour the ammount required into a bowl and then place your coins in... a few hours and your coins should sparkle nicely..


if that fails (no reason why it should though) use either nail polish remover or lighter fluid..

IF you want a homeade microdermabrasion or even a mask, use your favorite moisturizer after cleansing mix w/salt or sugar %26amp; gently scrub. The harder %26amp; longer you do it the more results you 'll get. but warning if you do it hard, it will make you red. so stay out of the sunlight directly for a day or two.





I've heard of oats, w/water or such, never as suggested.

I saw something on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, about 3-4 years ago, and it included a smooshed avocado. You might be able to Google that and get some info.
I find that the Oatmeal mask I make works wonderfully.





You'll need a packet of plain oatmeal, heat up with 陆 cup of hot water, a squirt of honey, and 录 cup milk. Mix together well.





Next, you will apply to the face and leave on for 15-20 minutes. The heat helps open pores while the mask helps to lighten any acne marks that are already there and rid of all the oil.





After you rinse the mask off, you would then take a paper towel and some lemon juice. Pour a quarter size amount of lemon juice on to the paper towel and rub over the face. Let dry and leave on.





These work well.





Also, you can use alcohol rub to get rid of dirt and oil as products such as Stridex %26amp; Oxy pads use alcohol as a major ingredient in that specific product.
