they're sweet and everything i was just wondering.Why does the band slipknot wear masks?
Extreme heavy metal band Slipknot, famed for their grotesque masks and over the top performance style, admitted today that the masks hide an even darker side to the band than is first apparent.





';It started off as a bit of a laugh down the youth club after a couple of ciders' said lead singer Corey Taylor ';We were rehearsing for a Gothic sketch for an upcoming gangshow, and we just picked up some instruments that had been left out by the band and started goofing around. We didn't realise that James (guitarist) mum was videoing us. She gave the video to a talent scout, and suddenly we were offered a record deal. Really it was all very embarassing, but James mum was so made up we didn't like to let her down. So we just did what we did over and over again in a slightly different order and made the song names up as we went along. No one really seemed to mind that we couldn't play or sing, and it all just got out of hand. Before we knew it we'd been booked for and sold out Yankee stadium, I mean, go figure...';Why does the band slipknot wear masks?
