Does MEPS look for masking agents in your urine sample such as asprin?

Im 3 weeks clean, but am still testing pos for pot... Im not looking to keep smoking, but my recruiters are pushing me to go to MEPS next week even tho I dont feel like that'll give me enough time to get completely clean (they dont know about this lil problem you see....), and Im just looking for that extra lil bit that might help me pass. Im not looking to start smoking again, so its not going to be a multiple time thing. Does anyone know if they look for stuff like that in your sample?Does MEPS look for masking agents in your urine sample such as asprin?
Yes they do. I suggest you try drinking a lot of water and cranberry juice. Also, try working out so that you sweat a lot. I heard vinegar works too if you can stomach it.

By the way, the recruiter is probably concerned about losing you as a potential recruit especially since you are female. They will still be there when ever you decide you are ready to go. Don't let them push you into anything you aren't ready for or don't want. Tell them you need a little more time because there are some family things you need to take care of before you depart.Does MEPS look for masking agents in your urine sample such as asprin?
Sounds like you have more issues than what you are telling us, but the answer is yes. The drug test you get at MEPS and again in boot camp and all through your military career is the best test out there. It will pick up any and all drugs in your system. Time to look at what is really going on in your life before making the decision to enlist. The military is a very stressful place and drugs are not the answer nor are your masking drugs as you called them. The military is looking for people that can handle life withoug drugs of any kind as well as stress on a daily basis. If you can't do this in normal civilian life you better look elsewhere for a life/job choice. The military is 24/7. Think hard and long before you make the choice. The military spends millions a year getting rid of people similar to you because they can't deal with things once they get in. Not trying to be mean just telling you the facts since I see people like you everyday and most are not successful. It is all up to you to make a true change if you really want the total military lifestyle.
I would contact the recruiter and tell them everything. One, so they can reschedule your MEPS giving you time to be completely clear. Secondly, if you have had any run ins with the law over drug use or possession, it is best to let them know about it now. Finally, you said you stopped three weeks ago...how long before that did you plan to enter the service? If you knew you were enlisting and smoked anyway, you will really need to consider if you can stay clean when the stress of training kicks in. I am not saying the military is the wrong choice...but be sure you are in the best shape emotionally and physically when you start.
you'd be better off coming clean and telling them you won't pass the drug test, so you want to go in another month or so instead. EXPLAIN that have zero intention of ever doing drugs again. They'd much rather hear that then pressure you into going and then being DQ'd. If you have been honest with him from the start, this wouldn't have been an issue.

BTW: how often did you smoke before you quit three weeks ago? if you were habitual(more than three times over 6 months) you just earned yourself a Fraudulent enlistment by omitting that information, and things will go much much worse when they find out . and they WILL.

Come clean about EVERYTHING now. save yourself some heartache and your recruiters from wasting any more of their time.
I hope your MOS doesn't require a security clearance. Drink a lot of water to flush your system. Good luck.
OK, you smoked weed. if you enlist its time to stop, if you continue they will catch you.

now to answer your question. you are most likely fine after a month but try to push the date to month 1/2 to two months.

they will try to scare you into telling them both at meps and at bootcamp by saying their test is better than the civilians use and can go back as long as a year. don't believe the hype.

AGAIN, if you slip up while active they WILL catch you sooner or later. ';health and wellness inspections'; are spontaneous and you NEVER know when one is coming.

edit; by the way dont tell your recruiter, dont tell em at meps, dont tell em at boot camp. just make sure youve waited long enough.

dont smoke again, they will catch you.
I'm sure they would. These aren't those quick drug tests big companies pop at workplaces to comply with federal regulations - the military knows they get a lot of drug users trying to join.

You might want to tread carefully here - if they catch you with drugs in your system, there'll be a big red mark on your name. Once that's done, they will never let you in. It's not really the crime of using drugs so much as an integrity issue.

If I were you, I'd try and get that MEPS session rescheduled for later - the recruiters can't force you to do it next week. Or suddenly ';fall sick'; or something on the day. No pressure, you can take your time with this one. It's better to hassle yourself and be patient for a short while then lose your chance at joining the military.
Drink a lot of water and take a lot of niacin. If you're three weeks clean, you should be able to pass in a week. Stay clean!!
You need to reevaluate your life and reasons for joining the military. Stress levels will only go up!! Way up! And I'm not just talking about basic. Seems to be you'd be better off being honest with the recruiter(s) then trying to cover up what's going on -- that's not a good habit to start!
