There is nothing in the Koran which says women should cover their faces. Turkey banned the headscarf (not the hajib or the niqab - the headscarf) in Parliament, schools and universities in 1929, and probably 80% of Turkish nationals are Muslim.
Whatever the reason of your question, there is no SINGLE north African country who is democratic, they all got bad human rights records in Egypt, Morocco, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria....Unless you categorise your government the same like these states, then you can apply their rules in the UK.





It is the anti-Muslim feelings that going around the UK. It is the hate that filling up your hearts that pushes you to ask such questions!!


Just leave Muslims alone and think of something else.e.g., teen age pregnancy, binge drinking young girls, who is going to win the X-factor.....leave them alone!





For Ladymoonlight: I 'm against violence specially from those who committed 9/11 or 7/7. What I'm trying to say, you do not have to punish the entire Muslim population in the UK for the acts of few terrorists. The majority of Muslims in the UK are PEACEFUL. Let Tony Blair apply tougher laws on immigration, kick out any immigrant or asylum seekers who was arrested and involved in crimes...etc but again LEAVE MUSLIMS ALONE!

It would be SO discriminatory if I couldn't go through my daily life with a black hood over my head with only my eyes showing. I could go to work, my bank, pick up the kids from school (they would have to figure out it was me from my voice and body language), go food shopping....


it would be so much easier than trying to look neat, I wouldn't even have to wash or brush my teeth.

Well if these veils are banned in Muslim countries why are we putting up with them over here, when we're not even a Muslim country?

Wouldn't it be great to go out and about with no make-up, no fannying around with hair-straighteners, and no need to buy any clothes other than your burqa and some really comfy jumpers and joggers?

I think a total ban is virtually needed. In places where huge crowds gather, where extremist bombers are likely to strike, full veils should not be worn, who knows who is lurking beneath it. In our schools and hospitals, they should also be banned. As young british children dont need to see or understand the repressive nature of such garments. And in hospitals, patients surely want to see fully who is prodding them about, older people like to see who they converse with.





They should be allowed, probably, in there own places of worship, as the male members like to see the repressive garments, hiding their wives from other men. These women must surely be the most attractive in the world, to command such insecure jealousy from their husbands.





Whether the veil is banned or not, just be glad, and proud that we show our women respect. Something a muslim women will never get from their men.

in saudi there are women only shopping malls and you cannot have your face covered as it prevents men disguising as women and goin into the toilets to attack them
