I have really dry skin..Any ideas for homemade face masks?Face masks for dry skin?
hi!
Nourishing Face Mask
2 ounces ripe avocado
1 ounce orange juice
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon molasses
5 drops chamomile essential oil
Blend all the listed ingredients in a blender or by fork in a bowl. Add some more OJ if the mixture is too thick. Spread this mix over your face and neck and leave on for at least 30 minutes for it to start to dry. It doesn鈥檛 have to completely dry to be effective. Use warm water to rinse off the mask with a rough cloth to exfoliate while removing. This mask will keep for a few days if refrigerated.
Butter Face Mask
1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
1 egg yolk
Beat both the above ingredients together and apply to face, leave on for 10 minutes and then wash face with lukewarm water. Pat your face dry with a soft towel.
Honey and Oatmeal Face Mask
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon honey
instant oatmeal enough to make a paste
Mix all the above ingredients together with enough of the instant oatmeal to make a good paste consistency. Smooth this blend all over your face and neck. Leave on the face for 10-15 minutes and then rinse off with lukewarm water. Pat dry with a soft towel.
Avocado %26amp; Cucumber Face Mask
Step One:
1 cup cucumber, peeled and chopped
1 cup avocado
3 tablespoons finely powdered oats
3 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon honey
In a blender, mix cucumber, avocado, water and lemon juice until smooth. Then add rest of ingredients listed in Step one and blend slightly. Pour this into a bowl and whisk in the clay and the essential oils. Apply to clean dry face and neck and leave on for about 30 minutes. Rinse off afterwards with lukewarm water and then pat dry with a soft towel. Apply toner and good moisturizer. It will keep well in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Step Two:
8-9 tablespoons clay (you can get this from most any health food stores)
2-3 drops of essential oils (citrus or floral)
Take care, byeee!!Face masks for dry skin?
the problem is too harsh of a soap--dry heaters in the house--and constant scrubbing destroying the natural oils----drink a lot of water during the day and use a mild soap. That is it--forget putting useless crap on your face--hydrate your body with water--it's the fastest way to maintain your skin. Read the ingredients on the cream bottle--it has alcohol and chemicals in it---no wonder your skin is dried up. Alcohol is dangerous and can be extremely harmful. Merry Christmas
I love mixing a little bit of honey and milk together and making one. Milk is known for making skin smooth so you should really try this.
I cleansed my face, steamed it for 5 min., exfoliated it, put that mask on for about 15 min. or so, rinsed it off, and woke up with the smoothest skin.

Use a rich cream cleanser instead of soap and water. Avoid astringents, as they will further dry your skin. Instead, use a mild skin toner after cleansing your skin. Apply a good moisturizing lotion in the day, before sleeping, before applying make-up and after removing make-up.
Once a week, wash your face with the juice of a melon. You can give yourself a weekly facial by mixing a yolk of an egg with two tablespoons of milk and half a tablespoon of honey. Apply this on your face and leave it on for about fifteen minutes. Then wash with lukewarm water. If you're out in the sun a lot, milk mixed with melted butter helps soften the dry skin.
Lanolin, apple juice, peach juice, sour cream and crushed almonds are also helpful for dry skin.
